"Expectations and Explanations"

by the Teacher "Ms. Macieczni"

Notebooks It is required that you acquire a binder for this class. Your are expected to bring your book every day, take notes in class, participate in all labs/activities, and have your own pen or pencil. You are also expected to keep all homework, quizzes, labs, handouts, and test. Notebooks will be collected and graded after each chapter, usually on test day.
Homework/Classwork All in-class work will be collected and graded. If you are absent from class, it is your responsibility to find out what work was missed and complete it within the same number of days, as you were absent. Any work turned in late will be reduced in value by one grade for each day late. Assignments given when I have a substitute will be graded as a quiz.
Labs Four students per group will be assigned by the instructor and changed each card marking.
Quizzes Usually given once a week, they may or may not be announced.
Physics Day at Cedar Point We will plan on going to Cedar Point sometime in mid-May. There will be a cost to you of at least \\$20 for the ticket/transportation. Only students that maintain a passing grade in all card markings and are within the absence allotment will be entitled to go. Whether or not you attend Physics Day at Cedar Point, you will be required to complete an assignment for the day.
Class Behavior You are expected to behave in courteous and controlled manner that is conducive to learning. If I do not find your behavior appropriate, I will ask you to develop a plan to improve. If your behavior continues t be disruptive, your parent/guardian will be contacted for a conference and you will be referred to the assistant principal.
HELP You are encouraged to seek extra help after school or by making prior arrangements with me. Don't wait for the test day to ask for help. The National Honor Society tutors every Tuesday and Thursday after school in my room "219". My conference hour is 7:50-:50 a.m.
Thank you I hope you have a great year!
